Often overlooked next to Dubai, Sharjah surprised me. Culture, desert landscapes, peaceful waterfronts and history all come together in one easy, five-day trip.
Start in the Heart of Sharjah, wandering historic souks, Al Hisn Fort and heritage museums before ending the day along the glowing Al Majaz Waterfront.
DAY - 1
Spend the day at Al Noor Island and the Butterfly House, then experience the surreal Rain Room before a calm sunset stroll by the lagoon.
DAY - 2
Explore Sharjah Safari in the morning, then head to Mleiha for dune bashing, sandboarding and a golden desert sunset you won’t forget.
DAY - 3
Visit the House of Wisdom and Holy Quran Academy, then slow things down with a peaceful boat ride across Sharjah’s calm waters.
DAY - 4
Escape to Al Badayer’s desert mountains for hiking, quiet views and a relaxed final day surrounded by sand, silence and open skies.
DAY - 5
Visit Sharjah between November and March when temperatures are mild and perfect for desert adventures, sightseeing and outdoor walks.
Stay central at The Chedi Al Bait, go off-grid at Al Badayer Retreat, try glamping at Moon Retreat, or choose mountain views at Najd Al Meqsar.
