Last week I shared my witch look, as part of my spooky season makeovers. This post is all about clowning around this Halloween. I’ve already spoken about how different it will be this year because of Covid. You can read all about it here. I didn’t want to miss out on any of the fun this spooky season, so I decided to have a couple of makeovers instead.
As mentioned in my last post, my niece Manisha created the looks and she did such a stellar job.My witch makeover was semi-glam but because the look was completed with dark colours, we wanted something bright and vibrant this time. I bought the face paints and brushes and picked up some putty and fake blood too.
We started with my base make-up again, using my Mac Pro Longwear Foundation. This time Manisha went for a more dewy look. Then she started on my eyes, making up the look as she went along. She painted a spade over one eye and painted on a couple of hearts.
We decided to go for red lips this time around but she gave them a moody and dark look by outlining them in black.Manisha wanted to add a darker edge to the clown so she decided to carve a scar out of the putty on both sides of the face.
This was the part that took the longest but it was worth it.It actually looked so real and when Shivam saw me, he initially got a little scared. He thought it was real.I’d say I’m fairly good at doing my own make-up but when it comes to something like this, I wouldn’t have known where to start. Manisha made it look so easy and it was great that she talks through her process out loud. So this is definitely a look I could recreate myself in future.
It’s just about experimenting and if it doesn’t go as you imagined, who cares? It’s a bit of fun and who wants perfect anyway?Sukh took some great photos again and we had fun shooting some video content for my Instagram too. We had intense lighting in the room and I’d been sat in the warm room for a long time in a clown one-piece hence the shine on my face!
I would have hated for the spooky season to pass by without doing anything. Usually we attend events and go trick or treating. But having done these makeovers, I feel like I’ve still been able to have some fun.
Happy Halloween, folks! However you spend it, be safe x
