Siblings (Living Arrows)

Siblings (Living Arrows)

Welcome back to my photo adventure, Living Arrows, which is about celebrating childhood. The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran. “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”.

Each week I share photos of both Shalini and Shivam from our week – simple photos that capture a moment of childhood.

This week I want to share a poem I have written about siblings. I literally wrote it in a few minutes because it just came to me when I was actually thinking about something else. So it’s not long and hasn’t been pondered over for ages. But for me, the joy of it is in it’s simplicity.

Autumn Walks - Walking on a narrow path

We argue, fuss and fight,

sometimes we’re not friends.

But I will always have your back,

and support you till the end.

You and I share so much,

and we walk side by side.

I promise you now and forever,

I’ll take you along for the ride.

It’s us against the world,

you’re my partner in crime.

You will be my beautiful sibling,

until the end of time.
