Summer Season – What I Wore
It’s been a glorious summer. The heatwave lasted a couple of months and it’s been great to have consistent sunshine for a change. So I thought I would do a round-up post of what I’ve been wearing this summer season.
I haven’t been out and about as much as I would have had I not been suffering from some health issues lately. But when I did venture out, I enjoyed pulling on a lovely outfit, putting make-up on and doing my hair.
Here’s a look at what I wore…I’ve been in love with jumpsuits this summer and that’s no understatement. I would literally ‘jump’ at the opportunity to wear one whenever I could. I bought around six or seven in total but didn’t wear all of them as I wanted to keep some outfits box-fresh for my upcoming holiday.
This mustard jumpsuit was an absolute steal at £18. I wore it twice over the summer and had so many compliments on it both times with people asking me where I had bought it from. Boohoo have had a wonderful selection and I must admit, I spent way more than I should have on Boohoo items this season.
I couldn’t resist this outfit. It’s a 70s inspired one-piece and can be dressed down for the day (as seen here) or put on some heels, add a clutch and it’s perfect for an evening out. I really like the square neck and it’s extremely comfortable. It also comes in black or red. I wore mine on a day out and matched it up with my gold Geox shoes.
Another culotte jumpsuit I’ve been really loving this summer is from Quiz. It has navy and pink stripes with a halter neck. The tie waist belt completes the look. I wore this during the day with my Michael Kors beige heels but like the mustard jumpsuit, it can also be dressed up for an evening out.
It’s a really comfortable outfit but the only issue I had was it was slightly see-through. I was easily able to fix that though with wearing the right under garments.
I bought this for £34.99 but the last time I checked it had dropped down to £16.99. It’s a summer item so if you’re looking for a jumpsuit for an upcoming holiday, it’s an absolute steal at that price.
Co-ordinate sets have been really in this summer – and I couldn’t resist buying a couple. Boohoo has had some great items in a wide range of colours. This double-bandeau top was too cute to resist. Culottes are my new best friend so I couldn’t help but add this to my basket. It’s a soft baby blue with an elasticated waist and is super comfortable. I love the frill detail on the top.
It was £20 and I think that’s a great price for a full two-piece outfit. This is more of a day outfit because of the colour but you could buy the same set in mustard, soft pink, black, magenta, white and grey. I wore this with my Lucy Choi heels in white snake print but the outfit could easily be worn with wedges, blocks or even flats.
When the soft blue outfit arrived, I immediately fell in love with it. So much so, I ordered another two-piece straight away. This one was in black. It has a rose high neck crop and has the same style culottes. I wore this out to my cousin’s birthday meal with nude heels, also from Boohoo.
It’s £18 for this set and again comes in a variety of colours. I may order the berry or burgundy as I think they’re perfect colours for an evening out in Autumn.

As I’ve been in love with stripes this season, I bought some green and black palazzo trousers from Quiz. They are so comfortable and versatile. I wore them with a black vest but they could just as easily be teamed up with a bodysuit or crop top in black or white.

For the wear you can get out of them, £22.99 was a bargain. I bought mine in a size 8. They were quite long and I couldn’t ever get away with wearing them even with heels. But that’s the benefit of having a Dad who used to be a tailor. He took them up for me within ten minutes!
I wore mine out to a meal with my girlfriends with my favourite Michael Kors Berkley heels in beige.

Culottes have been back in a big way this season. I bought these Khaki bottoms last year from Bershka on Oxford Street. They were around £15 if I remember correctly.

They’re the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe as they are really versatile. You can wear them with bodysuits, crop tops or vests and most colours will work.

I have a thing for bright colours so my favourite item to wear with these culottes is a yellow sleeveless crop top from H&M.I love that they’re 100% cotton and in this heatwave we’ve been having are so comfy and cool. There’s a long slit on the sides right up to the knee and the tie waist belt detail.
I haven’t shopped at New Look in ages but I was looking for clothes for Shalini and came across this black and grey maxi. Stripes again! I don’t own many maxis but I always like to keep one or two in my summer collection.
It has a tie waist belt and a v-neck. It’s simple yet stylish. I wore mine to work with sandals. It was perfect for the heatwave, yet a good option for the office. It has a soft finish and with lining all over, which is always a big selling point for me. I send a lot of clothes back if I try them on and they’re see-through.
My sister gave me some denim culottes that she had bought for herself but didn’t fit right. They were a bit loose for me at the waist but nothing a safety pin couldn’t fix in the short term. I will have them taken in though (by my Dad, of course).
Shalini and I had been shopping in H&M for her holiday wardrobe and I couldn’t resist this cute green off-the-shoulder top. It looks tiny when you’re holding it up and I couldn’t believe I fit into a size 8. But it’s elasticated and stretched quite comfortably. It’s 100% cotton too.
I got it for £5 in the sale so it was a bargain I couldn’t turn away from. The outfit came together quite nicely. I wore it to a BBQ and again, it was perfect for the heatwave.

Your outfits are beautiful! I haven’t worn a jumpsuit since I was a kid. I I’m sure that jumpsuits are probably easier to get in and out of these days.
