Typhoon Lagoon should definitely be at the top of your list if you’re planning a trip to Orlando. It’s one of Disney’s two amazing water parks, packed with thrilling slides, relaxing pools and loads of family-friendly fun.
In this post, I’m sharing how we planned our day, tips for making the most of your visit and why Typhoon Lagoon totally lives up to the hype.

Why Choose Typhoon Lagoon?
Typhoon Lagoon offers a unique blend of adventure and relaxation. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie who loves speeding down water slides or someone who prefers to float gently along a lazy river, this park has something for everyone.
Plus, the tropical theming with waterfalls, lagoons, and a massive wave pool really makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a tropical paradise.
Planning Your Day at Typhoon Lagoon
If you’re heading to Typhoon Lagoon, one of Disney’s two amazing water parks, here’s what we learned from our day there — so you can make the most of your trip without any stress.
1. Arrive Early
Typhoon Lagoon gets busy quickly, especially during peak holidays. Therefore, we arrived early to beat the crowds. As a result, we enjoyed shorter queues and calmer surroundings. What’s more, we had time to grab a shady spot before they were all taken.
2. Lockers Are a Must
You’ll want to keep your valuables safe while you’re splashing around, and luckily there are plenty of lockers near the entrance. Renting one gave us peace of mind and let us fully enjoy the slides without worrying about our stuff.
3. Wear Water Shoes
The Florida sun can turn pathways into mini ovens by midday. Therefore, water shoes made walking much more comfortable. They also help avoid slips on wet surfaces, which are common at water parks. Plus, you don’t have to keep swapping between flip-flops and bare feet — super handy.
4. Take Breaks by the Lazy River
After a few adrenaline-fuelled runs on the high-speed slides, we loved chilling out on Castaway Creek, the lazy river that winds through lush tropical scenery. It’s the perfect place at Typhoon Lagoon to catch your breath, cool down, and enjoy a slower pace between thrills.
5. Bring Sunscreen and Stay Hydrated
pending the day outdoors means sunscreen is your best friend. Although there are shaded areas, reapply often. Additionally, remember to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated!
Highlights You Can’t Miss at Typhoon Lagoon
Crush ‘n’ Gusher: This water coaster is a must for thrill-seekers. It’s a brilliant mix of roller coaster and water slide that really gets your heart racing. We couldn’t get enough of the twists and turns!
Surf Pool: Typhoon Lagoon’s giant wave pool is one of the best anywhere. Whether you want to try bodyboarding or just have fun in the waves, this spot delivers every time.
Castaway Creek: Our absolute favourite lazy river. It gently carries you through tropical plants and waterfalls, offering a peaceful break from the busier attractions. Perfect for families and anyone needing a rest.
